First recorded run

so just a bit ago was my first run for my blog. I ran almost exactly 3 miles on some hilly roads near my house. It was almost dark by time i started but i had my reflector armband on and I felt pretty good. I decided before I follow an actual training program, i want to give myself a week or two to kind of condition and strength train a bit. The first mile my body felt good, but it took awhile for my breathing to catch up. A little bit after that I found a steady rhythm at a moderate pace. I felt good as i ran and kept speeding up a bit. near the end, the muscles on my shin started to feel a bit strained, but that quickly went away and I sprinted up the final hill home. my ipod died but if i had to guess the closest time it would be around 22 minutes. Overall I feel good and plan on running 3 or 4 miles tomorrow.

  1. Beast. The way your breathing took time to catch up is what happens to me a lot. Remember to stretch. I usually start off slow until I get in a good rhythm. My runs also always finish uphill. It's a great way to build strength for the end of a race.
